General Guidelines

1. Player Eligibility

  • All players must be registered attendees of PCNAK 2026 and must check in with their conference badge before playing.
  • Anyone without a valid conference badge is not eligible to participate.

2. Team Eligibility and Roster Verification

PCNAK Sports Day is intended to be a church-based tournament. We want teams to compete with integrity while keeping the process simple and consistent for everyone.

Pastor Sign-Off Requirement (Eligibility Standard for 2026)

  • Any player may participate as long as the team’s pastor (or designated church leadership) signs off on that player’s eligibility.
  • The sign-off confirms the player is meaningfully connected to the church/fellowship represented by that team, including:
    • The player has attended multiple services with that church/fellowship, and
    • The player has served in some volunteer capacity (serve team, event support, ministry help, etc.).
  • PCNAK will not “police” rosters beyond this standard. The pastor/church leadership carries responsibility for verifying eligibility in good faith.

Fairness Clause

  • This same eligibility standard applies to every team and every region equally.
  • Any church may include players under the same pastor-approved criteria, so no team is disadvantaged by stricter or looser enforcement.

Rosters

  • Basketball & Volleyball: Maximum 14 players per team.
  • Rosters should be submitted by the tournament deadline (to be announced).
  • Once games begin, no roster additions (except at tournament director discretion for emergencies).

3. Divisions

  • Men’s divisions: all players must be male.
  • Women’s divisions: all players must be female.
  • Co-ed divisions (if offered): requirements will be listed in the sport-specific rules.

4. Multi-Sport Participation

  • Players may participate in more than one sport, but the schedule will not be adjusted to accommodate conflicts.
  • Teams are responsible for arriving at their game locations on time.

5. Safety and Equipment

  • No hard/metal braces or gear that could injure other players.
  • No jewelry during play (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc.).
  • No hats or headgear with hard components; soft headbands/rubber bands are allowed.
  • Proper athletic shoes required (non-marking recommended depending on venue).
  • Uniforms: each team must have both a light and dark uniform option.
  • Jerseys must have legible numbers (preferred: on the back).

6. Scheduling and Communication

  • Game times and court assignments will be posted on the official tournament display/board.
  • Teams are responsible for checking schedules regularly.
  • Games start on time; late arrival may result in forfeit.

7. Officiating and Conduct

  • Games will be officiated by trained referees (venue permitting).
  • Referee decisions are final.
  • No foul language, taunting, threats, or physical altercations.
  • Tournament staff/security may remove any player or spectator for behavior that disrupts the event.

8. Facility Rules

  • Outside food/drinks may be restricted based on the venue’s policy.
  • Teams must bring their own warm-up balls; official game balls will be provided (as available).
  • Benches/court areas are restricted to players, coaches, and authorized staff.

9. Medical and Liability

  • Participation is at the player’s own risk.
  • Basic first aid will be available; serious injuries will be directed to emergency services.

10. Notes for 2026
